Meet Red ❤️
Red is a one-year-old sweetheart with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give. He may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a few days, and you’ll see him start to blossom into a outgoing, affectionate little guy who just wants to be close to his people or run with his dog buddies.
He grew up in a country setting so the busy world can feel a bit overwhelming right now. Loud noises, sudden movements, or new experiences (like stairs or loud cars) can startle him, and he’s still building confidence on leash and out in unfamiliar places. He’s smart and curious, though, and with patience and encouragement, he’s already making progress. He just needs someone willing to go at his pace and show him that new things can be safe (and even fun).
At home, Red is a good boy who thrives with routine. He sleeps in a crate in the bedroom at night and is crated for a few hours during the day, settling in after a little initial whining or barking. Regular exercise and mental stimulation go a long way in helping him settle and relax. He’s still working on some basic manners, things like jumping or gentle mouthing, but he’s eager to learn and responds well to kindness and consistency.
Red is wonderful with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. He’s friendly with people too, just shy at first. Once he feels comfortable, his loving personality really shines, he’s been getting more and more snuggly and clearly wants to give love as much as he gets it. He also enjoys playing with toys and has a fun, playful side that comes out more as his confidence grows.
