Mika is a two-year-old Labrador Retriever–Poodle mix who is bursting with love and ready to find her forever home. Originally from Texas, she has quickly embraced life in Madison and charms everyone she meets with her affectionate, joyful personality.
Mika is eager to please and highly food-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. She knows how to sit on command, walks beautifully on a leash, and responds well to gentle guidance. As she adjusts to Wisconsin’s chilly weather, she happily sports a cozy coat for outdoor adventures.
She is doing wonderfully with her crate routine, sleeping soundly through the night in her crate and settling in comfortably. She is learning to associate positive feelings with her crate by enjoying a peanut butter-filled Kong or a favorite chew while inside. Mika is also a star during bath time and brushing sessions.
True to her loving nature, Mika is a devoted snuggle companion who will gladly curl up by your side. She delights in being petted, greeting her people with enthusiasm, and making herself right at home. With continued guidance and consistency, she is blossoming into a well-mannered young dog.
Mika thrives in a home where she can enjoy companionship and reassurance. She does well with other dogs and would especially benefit from a confident canine friend to help show her the ropes.
