Updates

Randy found his home 9/11/21!

PUDPATE 3

Randy has been getting more confident and less skiddish in loud/busy environments. He is starting to enjoy walks and doesn't get as scared when other dogs bark in the neighborhood.

Randy continues to be a high energy pup. He has been going to doggy daycare twice a week and that really helps him to be more relaxed. Having a full day of playing and mental stimulation really makes all the difference!

Randy is still working on his puppy mouthiness but he is starting to make some progress. With someone to continue his training, he will be the perfect companion! He does great in his crate and loves cuddles when he's exhausted.

PUPDATE 2

After having Randy in home for a couple of weeks, we've really started to get more of a feel for his personality and energy level. He is a very high energy pup who needs multiple hours of exercise per day or he will become destructive. He is a mouth-first puppy, who loves to chew and needs chew toys and redirection continually. If left to his own devices he will eat any and everything - inside and outside. We are working with him on training and responding to verbal ques like "look" and "uh-uh" but that is still a work in progress.

Randy is a mouthy & energetic when he plays with people and other dogs. At this time, he would not do well in a house with older, low energy dogs or children since he doesn't recognize his own strength. He has difficulty recognizing social ques from other dogs for when they don't want to play.

Randy also gets scared quite easily while on walks or when interacting with new dogs. He can be a flight risk during these moments and needs work building up his confidence when outside of his comfort zone.

Randy would thrive with a house that is very active: going for long runs, a yard to run around in, and lots of time to put into training and bonding. When he gets enough exercise, he does have sweet moments of calm and quiet which he loves pets and snuggles.

PUDPATE 1

Randy loves playing! He spends a couple of hours a day running around outside and playing with our other foster dogs. Sometimes when they need a break from each other, he will continue to play with himself and his own toys alone. He loves pets and cuddles and will snuggle up right in your lap after play time.

Randy is a people person through and through! He loves getting affectionate pats and will cuddle up in your lap and for belly rubs. He is still working on puppy mouthing and is a bit of a chewer, but as long as you have a chew toy to keep him busy, he does great! He has no exposure to children.

This pup is high energy and needs lots of exercise throughout the day. He loves to run and play outside and will satisfy himself in a room full of toys. As a puppy, he's still working on not pulling while on a leash but is responsive to "come" and "walk" commands. If he gets enough exercise, he does enjoy long periods of naps and cuddling.

Randy loves other dogs inside and outside. He sometimes loves them TOO much though and will need reminders to give them space. If he could have it his way, he would be playing with other dogs all day long.  Randy currently lives with a 3 month old and a 10 year old australian cattle dog. He has no exposure to cats.

He is amazing in his crate; he goes right in and enjoys being in it. Randy doesn't whine at all when left alone. We would not leave him outside of the crate at this time because he is still learning not to chew.

Randy hasn't had any accidents indoors but does go out every few hours to go potty. He responds really well to ques such as "look" "come" "sit" "go potty" "gentle" and "walk."
