Meet Phillip, an adorably clumsy and sweet puppy learning all about the good life here in Wisconsin!
Phillip is great with other dogs and both ready to kiss and roughhouse in equal measure. He spent the first months of his life with his littermates, and currently lives with a large adult canine foster brother. Phillip loves all manners of toys and will make sure to spread them throughout the house for immediate availability. He’s equally excited about meeting people, but still learning to keep his paws on the ground and his tongue to himself during those interactions.
Phillip is quickly getting used to having structure in his life and learning to “adult.” His potty training is going well; he began signaling after only a week in his foster home! To ensure continued success, he gets the opportunity to relieve himself every 2-3 hours throughout the day. Phillip is able to sleep through the night reliably, getting up around 6am for his first potty.
Phillip is still getting used to being crated. At night this doesn't pose a problem; his humans are there and he settles in nicely. However, when his humans aren't home, Phillip gets vocal and tries to escape his crate and look for them. To avoid potential injuries and ensure he remains secured, he currently has an escape-proof crate. Phillip is also fed in his crate, as he does better separated from other pets during meal times. He came in very underweight and clearly suffered from food insecurity growing up. Learning to trust again in both regards is something his adopter/s need to continue working on with him.
Phillip is medium energy and enjoys playing as much as napping. He already walks surprisingly well on a leash and is ready to go on outings whenever his humans are. Phillip is smart, eager to learn, and very food-motivated. This is a great combination for training! Now all he needs is his forever family.
