Updates
Peter sleeps in his create over night and he is very excited to see us in the morning. We go out for a potty break and a little run around the yard to stretch our legs before breakfast. On the days I am in the office, Peter hangs out with our cat until we get home and go for our pre-dinner walk. After all the excitement of the walk we snuggle up on the couch for the rest of the evening. Peter Loves to snuggle.
Peter is a little shy at first with new people, but after a few minutes he is all about the snuggles.
Peter has yet to be around little humans but has a pretty relaxed personality.
Peter is the happiest when he can curl up next to you and take a nap. He is very easy to walk on a leash as he stays at your pace with a walk or light jog. On rainy days when he does not get out as much he can have higher energy levels.
Similar to people, Peter takes a minute or two to be comfortable with other dogs. Once he warms up, he loves to play chase.
Peter would love to be friends with our cat. Our cat does not make friends easily though. At the moment Peter is happy to give him the space he needs to feel comfortable.
Peter is definitely a social butterfly. The first few minutes of being alone (outside or in) can be upsetting to Peter. After a few minutes though he relaxes into a nap or plays with his toys.
Peter was positive for Anaplasmosis, a tick-borne disease, in April but is not showing any clinical signs. A positive result for Anaplasmosis just indicates antibodies to this bacteria, not necessarily active infection. Per our rescue protocol, he is currently being given a round of antibiotics.
Peter is one of the most loving and sweet dogs I have ever had. I believe he will do great in any environment where he is loved.
