PUPDATE 2

Hello people, Dutton here! I’m having a great time in my foster home, but can you believe I haven’t gotten any apps?

I have a few little dogs to play with in my foster home. They can be a little sassy, but I’m a pretty easy-going pup so I don’t mind. I even get along with the crabby neighbor dog, and my foster parents say no one gets along with her! I’m a very friendly pup and I like that about myself and I like other things about myself too.

I went to a Fetch event last week as an ambassador dog and I did a great job, if I do say so myself.  I met all the people and all the pups there. I’m a party girl!

I’m getting a lot better at potty training now that I’ve gotten the hang of the household routine. I just needed a little adjustment time, but now I go first thing when I go in the yard. I’m also learning to go into the crate on command.

Me and the little person in the house get energy sometimes so we run back and forth in the living room or the backyard. It’s super fun and we get our energy out! I do pretty well with this tiny human.

I’m looking forward to sunny days ahead. Come meet me today!

PUPDATE 1

Dutton says she more than good looks – she’s also got a great personality.

Dutton is very people friendly and made herself at home right with her foster parents and our almost 3-year-old daughter. Dutton does like to jump on people for attention, which is a habit we are working on breaking by making her sit. Dutton knows “sit” and “off” and as a younger pup, would benefit from a basic obedience class.

Dutton is being fostered with three small dogs and she does great with them. They love to roughhouse together and Dutton has great play style, even with the little sassy chihuahuas in the house, although sometimes her play tactic is to just sit on them. :)

Dutton is crated at night, when we are out of the house and when we can’t watch her. Unfortunately, Dutton likes to chew on non-toys and has destroyed some shoes while in our care, so an adopter should be careful about what is around the house if she is left uncrated. Dutton also gets carried away with playing sometimes and forgets to ask to go out, so she’s had a few accidents in the house. As she has only been in our house for a week, we expect that this will get better over time. Dutton does well in her crate and is generally quiet, though she may get a little barky when the house becomes active in the morning and she wants to get out.

Dutton is a medium to high energy pup and would do best in a home that is active.  She enjoys playing with the other dogs in the house, running around the yard and going for walks. We have been using a prong collar with her on walks to cut down on pulling and she is quickly getting the hang of walking on a leash. She gets a little barky when she sees dogs or people on walks, but is easily redirected. This southern gal wasn’t fazed at all by the late season snow we’ve been having.

Dutton has bolted out of our backdoor into our garage a few times and we assumed she was trying to run away, but after the second time this happened we realized she wasn’t running away, she just really wanted to go for a car ride. Dutton loves riding in the car!

If you are looking for a beautiful pup to go on adventures with, come meet Dutton!
