Meet Penny! An adorable dachshund yorkie mix with lots of spunk and love to give. She is full of personality and loves to cuddle. At 6 years old, Penny is looking for a home without young, rambunctious kids and large dogs running around, someone who can make their home as serene as she needs!
Penny spends her days sleeping and lounging on the couch or in her crate, she likes to be outside, mostly just for the sunshine and squirrel chasing! Penny enjoys walks, chewing on bones, sleeping and cuddling in your lap while you're on the couch or working and would be a great apartment dog. She is crate trained, but would prefer to be snuggled up with you on your bed at night, maybe even tucked under the covers (the burrowing of a dachshund is strong with this one). She's vocal with delivery drivers and people and dogs walking by, but will listen when you ask her to stop -- Penny is the perfect lap dog for anyone looking for a companion, she is well-mannered, energetic when guests come over and will let them know she's ready to be pet right away!
Despite having a hard time with young kids, Penny gets along well with other dogs in slow introductions but will vocalize when she needs the space. She has never shown aggression towards dogs, but has shown that she likes to chase off any cats that pass through her territory. Penny is great in the car, does well off-leash, knows basic commands, she's very smart and excellent when she is feeling safe.
