Patricia is a sweet little dog who came from a hoarding case in Alabama. She was a little shy at first but after a couple days she became very attached and affectionate. She lives with several other small dogs and does great with them. Initially she was a little scared of them but she is starting to play as she settles in. She stays in a puppy pen at night and when I am gone, and she sleeps quietly until I return. She seems to be potty trained and has not had any accidents, but I would recommend taking her out frequently at first and not giving her the run of the house right away.
Patricia is shy with strangers and will run away from new people. Sometimes she will bark when strangers come into the home, but usually she just avoids them. She is learning how to walk on a leash and is doing really well, but sometimes she will get scared and put the brakes on and need to be gently coached along. A martingale collar is a must so she doesn’t slip out.
Patricia was estimated at 6 years old by the shelter, but I would guess she is a bit younger because her teeth are in really good shape. She would be a great dog for someone who wants a snuggle buddy who is out of the puppy phase. If you are willing to give her a few days of patience while she settles in, Patricia will be your loyal companion!
