Ollie is a bright, sensitive Border Collie mix who is just beginning to discover what home life is all about. Everything indoors is new to him — the sounds, the routines, even the idea of having his own bed — but he approaches it all with a gentle heart and a willingness to learn. He does not have a mean bone in his medium-sized body; he’s simply figuring out this whole “living in a house” thing one day at a time.

Ollie's qualifications as a candidate to become your new sidekick include:

  • He walks beautifully on a leash and even enjoys running with his favorite human. Romping with dogs, especially those who match his playful energy is his other favorite activity.

  • He prefers women to men and feels most comfortable when he can build trust at his own pace. He is polite with the men in his life, they just don't receive the same enthusiastic greeting, complete with a hug and an enthusiastic tail wag, that his favorite woman does.

  • He adores his crate and sees it - or any small, cozy space - as his safe haven.

  • He is smart and eager to learn, especially when his routine feels predictable and calm.

  • While he is still learning the rules of indoor life, he has impeccable house manners and is a perfect gentleman in his kennel. However, if left to his own devices while unsupervised, he may decide to redecorate for you or explore the trash with great enthusiasm. For now, he should not be allowed to free roam the home unsupervised. His crate is his comfort zone, and he settles beautifully when he has that safe, enclosed space to relax in.

Ollie will thrive in a home that is patient, gentle, and understanding. An active adopter who enjoys walks, runs, and mental enrichment is at the top of his list. With kindness and consistency, Ollie will continue blossoming into the confident, loving companion he’s meant to be. He is the kind of dog who reminds you what trust looks like when it’s earned. He’s loyal sweet, and watching him discover the joys of home life is incredibly rewarding. If you’re looking for a dog with a tender heart and a ton of potential, Ollie would like to meet you.
