If you’re looking for the sweetest 2-year-old pup in Madison, look no further than Nugget! Nugget is the most loving dog I have ever met. This boy wants nothing more than to show you his love, which he does primarily through snuggles and kisses. He is great at listening and NEVER turns down a belly scratch. He would best be described as a low-to-medium energy dog who could live in either an apartment or a house. He would do well being an only dog, as he loves attention, but he also gets along great with my resident dog who is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu, and the two love to play together. I really believe that Nugget would fit into any family dynamic.
Nugget also loves walks, and could easily make it 3+ miles in one trip; in fact, Nugget has shown us that he is quite the athlete and can jump incredibly well for his size! Nugget does not love squirrels and will chase them with all his might on walks; when his brain is not occupied by the thought of squirrels, he is a good walker and not bothered by other dogs. Nugget is very food and toy motivated. He’s impressively fast at chewing the arms/legs/ears off his chew toys; he will also nibble on fingers in the cute playful dog way, but has never gotten aggressive or tried to bite anyone. I do believe he would be great with children of any age (and would love to have kids to play with).
Nugget is crate trained and potty trained. He has not had the opportunity to free roam in our apartment while we aren’t home, but he does well in his crate during a normal work day (8-5) without needing to go outside. He has never had an accident in his crate. He currently sleeps in his crate at night, but will take any opportunity to snuggle in bed with you, if given the chance.
A typical day for Nugget includes waking up at 6:30am, 3 walks ranging from 10-30 minutes each, breakfast and dinner with many treats in between, and crate time while we are at work from around 8-5pm. In the evening, you’ll find him in your lap snuggling, playing with his toys, or playing with our resident dog. An important point about Nugget is that he will be extremely easy to train. He listens well and responds quickly to feedback. He wants nothing more than to show you his love and prove that he’s a good boy. Your life will be better with Nugget in it!
