Updates

Check out a video of Neil here and here and here!

Neil recently had a staycation at Central Bark for a long weekend. On his report card for his stay, the staff said he had a great time, settling in nicely with a Kong for his relaxation time, and winning them over with his silly personality whenever they were with him.

On the home front, Neil has happily settled into a routine. When Neil knows one of his favorite activities is about to happen (meals and walks, usually) he'll do a little happy dance, accompanied by a little "arf! arf!" he saves for these special occasions.

Neil has been getting along great with his foster brother, balancing play and peaceful coexistence.

Neil is such a sweet fella, and will bring tons of love into his forever home.

Update: Neil is thriving this summer!

He's been going to all sorts of events, including farmers markets, pack walks, and paddle boarding. He is an absolute gentleman at all of these new experiences, and welcomes affection and belly rubs from the new friends he meets. His favorite summer activity is playing with the garden hose, which comes with his own personal rainbow!

Neil is getting along great with his canine foster brother. He's learned to peacefully coexist, and is happy to wrestle when it's playtime.

Neil started taking obedience classes, and he's a star student. He already knows a solid foundation, and the classes are just helping him build on that. He learns quickly, and would likely enjoy agility lessons or something similar that challenges his body and mind together.

A typical day for Neil starts with breakfast (he isn't pushy about it, but might gently rest his chin on the side of the bed to check if you're ready to get up), followed by some time in the yard to take care of business. Some days he'll go for a short walk in the morning as well. Neil roams free while I go into the office for the morning, then goes out for a lunchtime walk. He roams free again during the afternoon, rotating between his favorite nap spots and windows to keep an eye on the neighborhood. Neil gets dinner when I come home from work, then some time to play in the yard. He typically goes on a longer walk in the evening, and sometimes a special activity like paddle boarding, or a sniffari through a pet store. In the evening, Neil likes to cuddle up on the couch or nearby on his dog bed. He has a last call outing to the yard before bedtime, when he curls up in a cozy spot and sleeps quietly through the night.

Neil does well with other dogs once he gets to know them. He is good with kids who have learned to be gentle with pets. Unknown with cats.

Neil was adopted by Aimee and Jacob on 8/24/2024!
