✅ Maudie was rescued from a cruelty/hoarding case in Alabama.

Miss Maudie is the best little lady! This girls number one goal is to be your shadow, partner, and best friend. We start our day around 6:00am and start with cuddles and belly rubs, as the girlie is either on the floor in her bed, or already our personal weighted blanket. We then go outside for our potty break. While the humans are getting ready for the day, Miss Maudie relaxes, does her morning stretches and often takes a little nap if she can sneak it in. We have breakfast around 7:30am via a slow feeder and immediately go outside. She always goes potty immediately after and does a great job as along as she's let out. She then plays with our resident doggo, chews on a bone, or take another nap. Often there is a potty break in the midmorning and some cookies for being so beautiful. As we approach lunch, we get ready for an afternoon walk. Miss Maudie loves walks but enjoys the scenic route. She enjoys taking her time, smelling the flowers, and exploring the world through scent. She is not worried about rushing her walk. After our lunch walk we spend some time with pets and attention before foster mom starts working from home again, and she takes her afternoon nap. In mid afternoon, we usually do a treat puzzle, sniff mat or a kong to exert some more energy. Around 4:30/5 we have dinner and an evening walk or play in the yard. Maudie prefers to lay close to her person, if not on top of her person. She loves being a lap dog and feeling safe being near the people she trusts. She enjoys having her face/ears rubbed and will "crawl" up towards the face of the person she lays with. When time for bed we go outside once more, and then girlie goes to bed either in her bed (at the foot of foster parents bed) or lays on the human bed.
Miss Maudie is a shy girlie. It can take her some time to get comfortable and feel safe and with that patience is key to her success with people. She gets nervous if there a loud noises but as soon as she is back with whoever she trusts she's good. She does great once she is reminded something is safe and then trusts your judgement. Miss Maudie is an old soul who is ready to find her companion. She is looking for the person who she can be a true friend with, be apart of their life, and welcomed into their daily activities. Rather it's running to the hardware store or picking up an order of groceries, she's happiest being apart of it.
