My name is Marvel, but everyone calls me Marv. Sometimes Marvin if I’m being naughty, though I rarely am. My foster parents tell me I’m pretty great – a little timid at first, but the sweetest, wiggliest, funniest, little house seal. They seemed really excited that I always go to the bathroom outside which seems kind of weird because where else would I go?! My typical day starts off with hanging with my foster dad while he drinks his coffee. Then, we’ll play outside for a little while. I usually get pretty tired after just a bit of playtime and then I nap by my foster dad while he works from home. When I see my foster dog siblings, I do get excited and get my energy back. My foster parents tell me I’m medium energy with occasional bursts of play, followed by some great naps. It’s even better when I can nap with my foster mom in the big human bed, but they tell me “don’t get used to this Marv.” I happily sleep through the night on a dog bed on the floor at the end of my foster parents’ bed, but I MUST be wrapped in a blankie. I recently joined my foster family in the camper van on a trip to the Northwoods. I made sure to clear the campsite of the dragonflies and I loved exploring the campground.

I really love when I get to go out the front door and strut around the neighborhood loop, though my parents attach some contraption to keep me close. I don’t understand why my foster siblings pull away from the humans so much – humans have the snacks! Things do change quickly though when I see a rabbit and I try to get as close as I can – probably any small non-dog critter, like a cat or free-roaming guinea pig, would be too much for me to handle. Twice a day, my foster parents bring me my food. At first, they tried to give me just kibble since they didn’t know I have a refined palette and prefer a bit of wet food mixed-in. I was not good at remembering to brush my teeth when I was younger, so the vet said I need “a dental.” My foster mom is in charge of my allowance, but she said that Fetch will pay for my dental so my future family should not be worried. These foster people said something about needing to wait 6 months because I completed treatment for heartworms shortly before I arrived in Wisconsin. I had no complications from treatment. You'll just need to give me my tasty heartworm preventative on time every month so they don't come back!

Every day my parents seem to have a different visitor approach in a big blue truck in the driveway -- my foster siblings bark a lot at them, but I’m pretty quiet since all that barking seems like wasted energy. Recently though, some delicious Nylabones were delivered in a big box and I LOVE them. If I don’t have them around, I sometimes have a little chew on the dog blankets in my dog bed (they just are so tasty), so my foster parents keep an eye out for that.

While I love living with my foster family, I would really like to find my forever home so I can start the rest of my new life here in Wisconsin! I can’t wait to meet you and show you what a good boy I am.
