Meet Margaret! A True Livestock Guardian at Heart!
Margaret is a 1yo Great Pyrenees ready to find her forever home! She possesses the classic "Pyr" temperament: serious, watchful, and deeply devoted to her people. She has strong tendencies to protect her people from other dogs if she perceives it at danger. She needs a confident owner who understands that this is a breed instinct to safeguard her loved ones, and who can advocate for her so she doesn't feel she has to take charge.
Margaret gets along great with calmer dogs who respect her boundaries. Although she has not yet mastered playing with humans she plays great with other dogs and entertains herself with chews and toys!
Margaret is on the shier-side and tends to be more reserved. She bonds through trust and calm presence, not high-energy. Margaret would thrive in a home where someone is around often and doesn't get left alone for long periods of time - since she gets a little stressed when left alone especially in a crate, she would love to have a stay-at-home buddy.
She would probably do best in a home with older children as she is a shy dog. Margaret needs someone who is comfortable managing a large, double-coated dog who understands the mindset of a great pyrenees.
