Welcome to Wisconsin, Maggie! In the week we've been fortunate to foster Maggie, or Mags for short, she has revealed her fluffy, fun playful and cute personality.
Maggie's daily routine is to wake up around 6 am, she goes outside, then eats. She' spends the next few hours playing with our resident dogs either in the house or in the backyard. She eats dinner around 6 pm. Throughout the day, she plays and naps. It's a really good life :)
We're feeding Maggie three times a day because she arrived underweight: morning, late afternoon and evening. She's slowly gaining weight. The veterinarian reports that Maggie is in excellent health, but needs to gain some weight.
The best news?! Maggie sleeps through the night! We learned from her rescuing foster that Maggie struggled with crate training. It gave her undo anxiety and stress. After being found as a stray, we decided she'd been through enough and there was no need to put Maggie through more discomfort. She roams freely with our resident dogs and has done beautifully. Maggie is not destructive beyond finding the squeaky part on all toys, which is more than acceptable.
Maggie enjoys being by her humans. She is super snuggly and joins us in the kitchen while we're making dinner. She never begs, it's just to be where the action is.
We're working on basic commands such as "sit" and "stay." Maggie walks well on a leash and loves to have her fluffy hair blow in the wind like a super model, especially her fantastic tail.
Are you ready to meet Miss Maggie? She'll show you unconditional love, ensure you take her for walks, enjoy bingeing your favorite shows or napping together. She is such an awesome dog.
