If you're looking for a super-friendly cuddler and walking buddy, Lincoln would love to meet you! Lincoln wants nothing more than to hang out with his people and occasionally run a few laps around the yard or go for a brisk walk.
Here's a typical day with Lincoln so far-
-Wake up around 6:30-7am to go outside first thing, followed by breakfast. He's quiet in his crate at night - I have been giving him some kind of frozen peanut butter kong or lick mat when he's crated. He's not super food-motivated. He has learned to sit on command but doesn't care that much about the treat reward.
-Morning walk with my resident dog - Lincoln is great with other dogs and managed to convince my territorial resident dog that he means well - they now play great together. Lincoln has amazing leash manners and doesn't react to other dogs on walks, even if they're barking at him. He also won't try to jump up on other people he sees. He has pretty good recall and will come to you when called, but this will definitely require consistent practice.
-I work from home, so Lincoln hangs out in the three season room most of the time where there's plenty of windows for him to watch what's happening in the backyard. He is very chill after his walks and playtime and will fall asleep when he's out there. He likes to chew on either a yak cheese or antler/cheese bone as well.
-Afternoon walk followed by more time to run around the yard before I finish work for the day.
-Dinner around 5 pm - back outside after dinner and then again before bed around 9:30-10pm. Since Lincoln loves people so much, sometimes he will try to crawl on us while we're sitting on the couch, so we're working on some of these boundaries since he isn't quite a lap dog! (Although he would disagree.) If large dog cuddles are what you're looking for, Lincoln has you covered!
Lincoln would be a great candidate for doggie daycare or dog parks -- he always has a smile on his face and wants to be friends with all humans and dogs.
Lincoln is so excited to finally get to his forever home!
