Officially adopted on April 19, 2021!

Maggie Moo sleeps in her kennel overnight and usually gets up around 7 - 8 AM. Her day starts with a quick trip outside and then breakfast. After breakfast we usually take her for a ~20 minute walk around the neighborhood to get some of her energy out. After a walk, she is able to settle down and entertain herself with chewing on toys, people-watching out the window, or napping throughout the day.

We have been working from home so we haven't had to leave Maggie Moo home alone during the day, but I think she would do ok with being home alone as long as she had dog toys available and no food or other tempting items within reach. She has a good amount of energy to play and chew but is good about knowing what she's allowed to play with and doesn't get into any trouble even when we're not keeping a close eye on her. Maggie Moo is well-behaved in the house and keeps herself busy walking around the house/ patrolling the windows and playing with her toys. Occasionally when she's in a playful mood she tests boundaries by mouthing something she shouldn't - she sometimes bites the tassels of a throw pillow we have on the couch - but is quick to stop when we tell her "No".

We take Maggie Moo for another quick trip outside around lunchtime, and then she has dinner around 5 PM, followed by an evening walk. This is usually our longest walk of the day.

In the evening, Maggie loves to sit next to us and snuggle up for a nap on the couch. She's a puppy at heart and will happily climb all over you if you let her. She makes one last quick trip outside before bed, and then goes to bed in her kennel around 11 PM.

We haven't seen her have any fear or aggression toward people - she is friendly and curious and was crawling into our laps as soon as she meet us.  We haven't seen how Maggie is around kids.

Maggie Moo is a medium-energy dog. She can spend most of the day napping or playing on her own in the house, but her morning and evening walks are her favorite part of the day. I've also run with her a little bit and she has the energy and stamina to be a good running buddy, though she needs a little more leash training to stay by her person's side and not pull.

We have one other dog (an older golden retriever), and Maggie Moo has gotten along fine with her. Maggie would probably get along best with another active dog who likes to play - she tries to play with our other dog all the time, but our dog is lower-energy and usually ignores her.  We haven't seen how Maggie is around cats.

Maggie Moo is very well-trained with her kennel, and even seems to like going in there to relax sometimes. At bedtime, she walks right in as soon as we open the door. She is quiet all night and has also been quiet whenever we've needed to kennel her during the day. We've kenneled her during the day when we were running errands or out of the house for up to 4 hours at a time, and she did fine. She's also fully house-trained - she hasn't had any accidents since she came to our house.

Maggie is at an awesome age where she's adult enough not to be misbehave, but still has a lot of puppy-like energy and playfulness. She is super curious and inquisitive - she loves to follow us everywhere and sniff out everything she sees. She doesn't seem to know many commands, but she is really smart and attentive and picks up on things quickly - she learned to sit after just a few tries! She also has so much personality. She gets excited in the morning and afternoon when she knows her walk is coming up and will sit by the door and "talk" to us with little howls as we get ready to go.

Maggie Moo’s ideal home would be with a person or family that likes going on walks, or that has a yard where she can run around. She loves being outside, running, and playing fetch, and would be a wonderful dog for an active person or a family with another dog that likes to play. Despite her energy, she's also a big sweetheart who loves to snuggle and would quickly become your best friend.
