PUPDATE 2
Macy has gotten a lot more comfortable here in the last week. She has warmed up quite a bit to the other dogs and isn’t so timid around them. She will play and wrestle but if they get too rambunctious she’ll just go do her own thing. She’s very people oriented, always wanting to be by my side and follows me around. If I sit down, she’s on my lap immediately giving kisses and curling up in a little ball on my lap. She still barks a little from her crate especially if she can hear someone is home but it’s gotten better as time goes on. She barks quite a bit less outside as she’s gotten used to her surroundings. She’s such a good little Chi and will make a loving companion.
PUDPATE 1
Macy is a sweet and tiny pup who was surrendered to a southern shelter because her owner thought she played too much. She is excited to start the next chapter of her life and find a loving family here in Wisconsin.
Macy is fostered with three other small dogs. She does well with them all and spends a lot of time chasing and wrestling one of them. The other two are a little bigger than her and she sometimes gets overwhelmed and nervous when they try to initiate play. She just jumps up on the couch and stops moving to let them know she’s not ready. It’s really adorable to watch her play and get zoomies as she’s very fast and agile. After a week here, she has started to take an interest in toys as well. She’s also fostered with a cat and Macy mostly ignores him.
She lives with a dog savvy nine year old boy. She’s very friendly with him and runs to greet him with tail wagging. Because of her petite size, she would be best suited in a home with older, gentle children or adults. She has been very loving towards the adults and really loves to snuggle on laps with comfy blankets. Being a Chihuahua and having short hair, she seeks out the warmest place to rest.
Macy sleeps in a crate next to my bed and also stays in the crate when left alone. She sleeps soundly throughout the night and is very comfortable in the crate. She hardly makes a peep. She’s also doing really well on a potty schedule and has had minimal accidents in the house. When outside in the yard or on leash, she does tend to bark at unfamiliar people, dogs and noises. This has lessened as she has gotten more acclimated here but she’s definitely a good alert dog. She doesn’t bark as much inside unless someone comes to the door but we had window installers here recently and she barked a fair amount from her crate. She would likely bark at new noises in apartment buildings.
Macy is fun loving and affectionate. She’s both active and very snuggly. She will make a wonderful companion for a person or family looking for a small size dog and/or Chihuahua lovers.
