Meet Macchiato! This sweet, sensitive, ball of floof is ready to find his forever home!
Macchiato is a very typical, 3 month old puppy. He spends his days practicing crate training, playing in the yard with his foster siblings, getting lots of snuggles and cuddles from his foster family and emptying out the toy box.
Prior to coming to Wisconsin, Macchiato tested positive for parvo. He was a very sick little guy but luckily he survived and we have been working on putting a little bit of weight on him. He loves meal times and has done well eating in the same space as the other dogs but will grumble/snap at them if they try to eat from his bowl. He doesn't care about humans touching his food bowl.
Macchiato is a little bit timid at first but warms up quickly to his humans. In a home setting, he is very interested in meeting new people in our home and loves getting pets. If he is overwhelmed in a busier environment, he may sit back a bit but warms up very quickly, especially with food incentives. We haven't seen him with kids. He can be a mouthy guy still since he is busy growing teeth so should be supervised with younger kids.
He currently has three other pups in his foster home; two adult dogs and another puppy that is a little younger and smaller. He plays mostly with the other puppy. He gets excited when the older dogs come outside for playtime and is very sensitive to the other dogs’ corrections. He would do fine with or without another pup in his home, however he could gain some confidence in his interactions with other dogs. He did bark at the other dogs at first as he was a little unsure at first but that has subsided as he has gotten comfortable with the other dogs here.
There is a kitty in Macchiato's foster home. He is interested in the kitty and shows big tail wags when the kitty is out. He does show signs of wanting to play with the cat so he may need help with boundary setting by both humans and the cat if he gets too overzealous. Especially being so young, I don't foresee any issues with Macchiato having cats in his forever home.
Macchiato gets most of his energy out playing with the other pups in his home. He loves wrestling and playing chase in the yard. He is a medium energy guy that likes long naps after play time. We are still practicing leash skills with Macchiato as he is still getting familiar with being on leash. He does well in the car (crated) and doesn't mind tagging along for errands.
Macchiato isn't left alone too often these days but when we do leave, he needs to be crated as he is still very much a puppy. He will chew on cords, scraps on the floor, etc so will need to be closely monitored. We practice crating while I work and he has been doing really well. He has been crated for around four hours at a time and settles in quickly. He also settles in quickly at bedtime (crated in our bedroom) and will wake us up if he needs a potty break but that is becoming much less frequent.
We have loved having this sweet, adorable pup with us and know he will bring lots of love and snuggles with him to his forever home!
