If you are looking for your forever Valentine, Little Miss Lovebug may be your gal. As her name suggests, she is the complete package of love, snuggles, and sweetness.

Little Miss wakes up around 7 and goes outside immediately on leash to relieve. She is very quick about this. She then comes in and eats breakfast, and then goes potty again about 30 minutes to an hour after. In the in-between and after she is lounging on a dog bed next to her people. She is a chill and lazy dog! Some of the lounging may include teething on a rope, kong, or chewing on one of her hard plastic bones, but she’s usually snoozing (and often snoring). If you work at home a lot and are looking for a buddy to snooze right next to you while you Zoom and type away, Little Miss is your gal! She goes out for quick pee breaks here and there throughout the day, and on most days gets a longer walk (30-40 minutes) sometime mid-day when it works for her humans and when it’s not too cold outside for her (anything under 20 degrees is a hard no for Little Miss. She will sit on the ground or pull towards the house until she’s persuaded you to go back inside). Little Miss eats dinner around 7pm and goes out a little after, and then one last time before she goes to bed around 10 or 11pm. She sleeps in her crate.

While I’m sure Little Miss would enjoy a yard to run around in, she would do well in an apartment and/or an urban environment. She is non-reactive to the mundane sounds you hear when you share walls (we are in a condo) and I’ve yet to hear her bark. She has no problems peeing and pooing on concrete (In fact, I think she prefers it. She’s not interested at all in this cold and snow business that we have up north!)

As her name conveys, she is a lovebug. She loves cuddling with her people, sitting in their laps if they will let her, sleeping next to them, and getting all the pets. This little lovebug just wants to please her people and be with them. She is great about sleeping alone on her dog beds, but she loves when her humans get on the carpet, or when she gets invited up on a bed, to spoon and nap. It doesn’t take long for Little Miss and the humans to be sound asleep!

Little Miss is curious and friendly when she meets new people on walks or in the house. She’s always happy to get a few extra pets from whoever is willing to offer them! She has been great with adults and an 8-year-old kid who have visited the house. With both, she just wants to receive their love in the form of pets and cuddles and reciprocate with lots of kisses.

She’s yet to hear a delivery person, doorbell, or garage door open and be phased by it. I’ve never heard her bark at anything. Sometimes she will whine for a bit at night when she’s put in her crate to sleep, but she quiets down after a few minutes.

Little Miss is a medium- to low-energy dog. A 30-40 minute walk every day is plenty for her. We’ve only had a few walks thus far, and she seems to have a lovely, slow gait. With confidence, I suspect that she’ll get more adventurous and pull a bit more. If so, I’ll try using a gentle lead or prong collar and see if that’s better. I think she’d be easy to get to walk at heel with some training. She hates the cold, so on cold days we’ve skipped the walk and she’s been just fine. Little Miss is learning to play with toys. She especially likes ropes and kongs (especially when filled with treats)—things that feel good on her teeth.

Little Miss is currently the only dog in the house, but whenever we see other dogs on a walk, she is happy to see them and is very sweet. She has not had exposure to cats with us.

We’ve tried a few things when we leave—the crate and a bathroom that we’ve designated as her safe space. The bathroom seems to be better for her nervousness when we leave, so we’ll probably keep with that.

Little Miss Lovebug is a great puppy who is so happy to have found herself in Wisconsin (except for the cold) where she can meet a family who will give her as much love as she will them. For those wanting a quiet, sweet, and pretty lazy dog, Lovebug is your gal!
