Jasmine
Great Pyrenees Mix | 1 year Old | Female | 75 lbs
Jasmine is a beautiful 1 year old Pyrenees Mix (livestock guardian dog). She comes to us from Louisiana with her brother Scooby. Both these beautiful babies were pulled at the last minute to save their lives due to space constraints at the shelter.
Jasmine has eyes that stare into your soul and you can just see her sweet nature. All she wants in life is to be loved and to get pets from her people.
Energy Level:
Jasmine is a medium energy level pup who loves to play with all dogs. She will happily go for a daily walk if you’d take him but he can take a day off from walking too. She goes to doggy daycare 2 days a week and does well with all of the other dogs.
Training:
Jasmine is easy to train. She’s food motivated and has also showed interest in learning scent tracking. Jasmine is a loose leash walker with a front hook harness. She will just saunter along with the other pups.
Crate Training:
Jasmine easily goes in a kennel without any fuss for a chicken strip or other treats. She also eats her dog food in her kennel and will happily trot in there at feeding time. At night time Jasmine has been right to sleep. When she’s ready to get up for the day she will let you know by barking. Jasmine could probably free roam but I have not tried it because I have cats (see cat section).
Potty Training:
Jasmine is potty trained and will go outside on command.
Grooming:
Jasmine’s hair is similar to a lab and requires grooming during shedding season but otherwise will be minimal.
Dogs:
Jasmine loves every dog in her home and every dog that comes over for a play date. When we see another dog across the street while on a walk she completely ignores them. She is an appropriate player and does well with all dogs. She likes to wrestle and play chase in the yard.
Cats:
Jasmine lives with 2 cats. She is very curious about them. When my friendly cat sits on the kitchen island she burrows her nose into the cats fur and tries to get her to run. She looks a bit intense when she does this so I don’t fully trust her with my cats. She is not trying to kill my cats but would need additional training to get to the point cats would be comfortable living with her.
Kids:
Jasmine has met a lot of kids at Fetch events and does excellent with kids of all ages and sizes. When she meets kids she just lays down next to them and wants them to pet her. Getting pets and love is her favorite thing in the world.
Jasmine is a gem of a dog for those people who like a big dog that wants to be around their people. She will take as many belly rubs as possible please and thank you!
