Hotch wakes up at 5:30am ready to go! We open his crate and head outside right away for a refreshing morning potty break, then go back in to get breakfast and have some playtime. Hotch LOVES playing! After about 15 minutes of playtime, it's time to go potty again and then he's set to take on the day! He usually plays hard in the morning for an hour or two, and then he's ready to take his first nap while mom gets ready and does some cleaning. When mom starts work at 9am, Hotch goes into his crate to stay safe, and he usually naps while mom works. He gets a 20-30 minute potty break, playtime, and snack around 11:30am and 2:30pm, and then mom's all done around 4:30pm and he gets all the snuggles and playtime he wants! Hotch eats dinner around 7pm and heads to bed between 9-10pm. Because he's so young and has a little bladder, Hotch does need a potty break around 2:30am, but he goes out, comes back in, and settles down in his crate right after.

Hotch absolutely adores humans. He happily greets new people both outside and inside, and he welcomes pets and snuggles from everyone! Hotch likes to play tug and play fetch with small tennis balls and he likes to chew on puppy teething toys. He is still learning what is ok to chew on, so clear boundaries about appropriate play are important for him as he continues to grow. Hotch is very smart and has learned a lot in just a week!

He hasn't met any children yet, but it's on our to do list! Hotch is still teething and is learning what he can chew and what he can't chew, so he would need lots of guidance and training around very young children.

Hotch is a typical 3 month old puppy. He has bursts of wild energy and then crashes for a long nap. Hotch's favorite ways to burn off his energy are playing with his puppy brother, Morgan, and with his foster brothers. Hotch also loves the snow and happily runs around the fenced in yard. He is learning how to walk on a leash and is doing a great job of listening while he's walking, even with all the fun things to see and smell.

Hotch's foster home is a busy one. His littermate Morgan is also being fostered here, and they have two foster brothers who live here as well! Hotch likes to play wrestle with his littermate because they're the same size, tug with one of his foster brothers, and chase with the other. Hotch does a great job of reading doggie body language to understand when he can play with other dogs and when the other dog isn't interested. He is still learning some basic doggie etiquette like sharing toys and only eating out of his own bowl, so if he were to be adopted into a family that already has a dog, it would be best if the dog doesn't have any resource guarding tendencies while Hotch continues to learn how to control his impulses.

Hotch hasn't met any cats yet.

Because he's still a young guy who's learning the rules, Hotch is crated when he isn't being supervised, even if we're still home. Whenever we're not watching him, Hotch goes in his crate with some safe toys to make sure he doesn't get into anything dangerous. Hotch should only be in his crate for up to 4 hours at a time because he will need to go potty frequently until he gets bigger. He is used to being in his crate for 2-3 hours, getting a 30 minute break, then going back in for another short period during the workday.

Hotch is a happy puppy who absolutely loves to play and snuggle. He's quick to love and open up and is curious about the world around him. He makes a wonderful companion!
