Harriet

Mixed Breed | 3 Years OLD | Spayed FemALe | 21 lbs

QUICK FACTS: ✔️ Crate trained ✔️ Potty Trained ✔️ Walks well on leash

Harriet is a sweet little dog. She has adjusted over the two weeks she has been in our care and her personality is blossoming. She follows our human schedule well. She wakes up early, because her humans do. She can wait to go outside while we complete our morning tasks. We take her outside on a leash and she does her business in the yard or on a walk around the block. She comes back and eats her breakfast. She took a while to begin eating but now quickly eats her kibble mixed with small pieces of canned chicken and a little broth. She gets fed twice a day and her second meal is usually around 5-6pm. Harriet loves to cuddle next to me on the couch if I settle there or she will follow me around if I am busy in the house. She can be trusted to go off by herself in the house and not get into trouble. We have a large kennel that she stays in when we leave her alone. She goes in readily and is content in the kennel. She quietly waits to be let out when we return home. She initiates play with a stuffed toy and likes to shake it and play tug. She will retrieve the toy and bring it back for more tugging. She knows the sit command and has been learning wait at the door, wait to eat, leave it, place, and break; she is making good progress on all of these. We have had no success teaching her to lie down on command. She is 100% house broken. Harriet gets about 3-4 walks a day and walks well on a leash. On longer walks she will settle into walking directly at our side without pulling. Shorter walks she is busy sniffing and walks ahead of us but she doesn't pull hard. She is very interested in small critters but only occasionally tries to chase after them. Harriet sleeps in our room. She likes to snuggle with us and also likes to burrow under the covers and sleep near our feet. That is allowed until lights out and then she moves to her dog bed and sleeps there all night. She is a sweet, fun, cuddly companion.
