Meet Bonnie!

She is a gorgeous hound who arrived in our home from Texas. She has been a super easy foster dog and a fun addition to our family. We have 3 kids ages 8-13 and Bonnie adores all of them. We also have a lab mix that Bonnie gets along with very well and an elderly cat (who Bonnie mostly ignores, but the cat doesn't really move much!)

Bonnie sleeps in her kennel but is very happy in there. Even goes in voluntarily sometimes when she wants to feel safe and take a nap. She does not wake up at night, and will go potty in the yard when she wakes up. She is always hungry - and always looking for food. She'll eat quickly then do a survey of the house looking for any extra bowls of food that we maybe left out :)

We take her for a 20 minute walk in the AM, she has 1-2 hours roaming around the house/yard, then she is in the kennel during school/work. She gets out around 4pm when we get home, she has lots of energy for playtime with kids, indoors and out, and another evening walk for 20 minutes. She does NOT like to poop on her walk, she waits until she gets back to the yard.

She attached herself to us very quickly and though she is shy around new people/dogs on walks, she’ll only try to hide a little. For this reason, we walk her on a sturdy harness so she cannot slip out. She’s adjusting to the new neighborhood.

Despite her hound roots, she is very quiet! Our resident dog barks and Bonnie comes immediately to see the action, but lets him do all the talking.

She is great with our kids - super gentle.

We will be sad to see her go, but very happy to help her find her new family!
