Updates

Gladys is crate trained and house trained. However she is rarely crated and has free roam of the house when I am gone as she is house trained and demonstrates no destructive behaviors or separation anxiety. Gladys sleeps in bed with me and my own dog and cat at night and is a very polite and well mannered girl. Gladys gets up at 6:30 am when we get up for work and goes outside to the backyard to potty and then comes in for breakfast. She hangs out during the day with my dog and cat and is let out again in the afternoon when I get home. Gladys then goes on a walk and has dinner and enjoys hanging out with my family at night.

Gladys can initially be a little shy, but she QUICKLY warms up once she knows everyone is friendly. Gladys LOVES children and is very playful but gentle when interacting with kids of all ages.

Gladys is a medium energy dog. She enjoys quietly hanging out and snuggling with her people, playtime in the yard, and going for walks. She does well on a leash and loves playing with other dogs and kids.

Gladys is GREAT with other dogs and has great social skills. She has a submissive, but playful personality and is very good at reading other dogs and responding appropriately.

Gladys also does great with cats. She is respectful, but affectionate if the cat is interested in being friends and will ignore if they are not interested. She takes naps with my house cats and seems to enjoy their company.

Gladys does great when I am not home. She has free range of the house and does not demonstrate any separation anxiety or destructive behaviors.

Gladys was positive for Anaplasmosis, a tick-borne disease, in May but is not showing any clinical signs. A positive result for Anaplasmosis just indicates antibodies to this bacteria, not necessarily active infection. Per our rescue protocol, she is currently being given a round of antibiotics.

Gladys is an all around amazing dog. She is so so sweet and affectionate and silly and her ideal family would have another dog and children for her to play with -although this is not required. Whoever adopts Gladys will be incredibly lucky!
