Gino found his people on March 9, 2021!

Gino and I spend some quality time together in the morning (pets + fetch!) before I start my workday at home. He spends much of the day sleeping on the couch or playing with his toys (like his Kong treat toy), and I'll take breaks throughout the day to take him outside or play fetch. In the evening, we play together and cuddle for a bit before I put him in his crate for the night.

Gino is wary of new people and takes a while to warm up, and he may nip if startled. When he gets to know you, he's very affectionate and playful. Gino loves belly rubs, snuggles, and giving kisses!  He has not met children in his foster home.

I've been able to successfully work from home while fostering Gino, and we'll play fetch indoors or take short walks to keep him active. He would likely enjoy running around in a dog park or someone's backyard, since he seems to love running fast outside.

Gino hasn't gotten to interact at length with other dogs during his stay at his foster home, although he's passed by a few in the hallway and outside. He seems curious about them and has sniffed noses with a couple.  Gino has not met a cat.

When Gino's alone in the apartment, he stays in his crate. He whines a bit at first, but then he calms down and is able to stay there while his people are away.

Gino was treated with antibiotics for Anaplasma. He does not show any active signs of infection and this treatment was a preventative measure.

Gino needs someone who will patiently work with him to conquer his anxiety around new people. He's a loyal companion and a good snuggle buddy and is a joy to have around during the day.
