If you are looking for a sweet little lady who will run/bike/hike with you first thing in the morning, then lay at your feet (or in your lap) at the coffee shop or brewery later that day, you’ve found your perfect match! Gigi is still full of puppy energy and super excited to be outside, play with her dog friends, and learn new things. She is an absolute HAM SANDWICH when she gets to meet new people and loves to give kisses, snuggle, and show off how adorable she is to anyone who will give her attention.
Gigi is very treat motivated, which has made training her a breeze! She knows basic commands like sit, down, come, stay, and she learned “touch” in just a few minutes! She is still working on breaking some puppy habits like jumping excitedly when people come into the house, and being mouthy, but she is an insanely fast learner. She does wonderfully on leash with some treats and reminders. Gigi will be an extremely well behaved dog with the right training and patience! She may even be a dog that would do really well with agility training.
Gigi does very well in her crate and has been quiet any time she is left at home. She also sleeps in her crate, but will happily burrow in the covers right next to you (or on you) in the morning! Gigi sleeps through the night and will not wake you until you let her out for breakfast/potty break. She loves car rides and is working on remembering that she cannot be a passenger princess (aka she needs to stay in the back seat) but she usually lays down after a bit, or just sits and stares out the window. She’d make a wonderful road trip or adventure buddy!
Gigi absolutely loves dogs and has been nothing but friendly and sweet, but will also walk right on by other dogs and ignore if you ask her to. She has been at her happiest when she is playing with her foster brother, but usually doesn’t know when to give the old man a break. Thankfully, she is easily redirect-able with her plushies, a bone, or some training exercises!
Some of Gigi’s favorite things include: activities with her people, playing with her stuffed dinosaur, car rides, sunbathing on the patio, soaking in attention from new people and dogs while out on the town, and watching the squirrels and bunnies in the yard.
Gigi is a super affectionate little girl, and when it’s time to wind down her favorite place is across your lap with her head resting on your chest or the crook of your neck. She also loves to stretch out fully on top of her foster brother. When at the brewery, she will often try to climb into a lap to relax. Giving this sweetie the exercise, training, and attention she deserves will pay off in the best ways!
