Gertie is a sweet and cautious girl! She loves being around people and having her bellly rubbed. Gertie loves the outdoors and gets right in the dog pool for a quick soak on hot days. Gertie is slow to warm up to new dogs but once she is comfortable, she's a good and playful friend.
Gertie has been waking up around 6:30 or 7am in a dry crate after 8 or 9 hours of sleep. She spends her day playing with her dog friend, going outside, napping, checking on her people, eating, going on walks and spending some time in her crate when her people have to work. Although Gertie doesn't always go in her crate on her own, she is very content once she is in there. Gertie has not had any accidents and is easily redirected if she finds something she shouldn't have. Gertie enjoys walks and does nicely on a leash. Gertie enjoys car rides but has not yet figured out she can get in the car on her own. She knows her name and is making great progress on some basic commands, sit, down, off, heal, come, drop it and leave it. Gertie is smart, sweet, treat motivated and seems to enjoy learning new skills and building her confidence.
