Meet Gemma, a delicate and darling 5-pound Chihuahua with a heart as big as her ears. Though small in stature, Gemma radiates warmth and gentleness in every tiny step she takes. Gemma’s favorite place in the world is snuggled up in a warm lap or curled beside you under a soft blanket. She lives for quiet cuddles, slow mornings, and the comforting rhythm of a human heartbeat close by. Whether it’s a rainy afternoon on the couch or a calm evening by your side, Gemma brings a sense of serenity.
She gets along well with other dogs—she currently lives peacefully with a 10 lb resident pup and previously did well in a foster home with two larger dogs. She’s comfortable in her crate, only making soft whines when she knows you’re nearby. She’s good in the car and will travel in a small duffel-style transport bag. While she hasn't been tested around children or cats, Gemma is quite submissive and timid, so a quiet home or one with older, dog-savvy children would likely suit her best.
She was reported as potty trained and generally does very well, though she’s had a few accidents—possibly due to nerves or a differing schedule from her canine housemate. Because of this, free-roaming unsupervised isn’t recommended just yet. Gemma is still gaining confidence and beginning to explore playtime, so she may blossom further as she settles in. Above all, she thrives on affection and is ready to bring warmth and companionship to a patient, loving home.
