Drop found her furevery family on October 1, 2020!

Drop, part of the “rain” litter, is a sweet, outgoing, quirky, and curious girl. She sleeps quietly in her crate with no accidents from about 11 pm-8 am. On weekends, she sometimes enjoys sleeping in. She usually goes on 1-2 30-minute walks a day and takes many naps. She usually is awake for 2 hours then needs a nap. She will nap in her crate or in a human’s bed. As long as she is taken out every few hours and after naps, she will not have accidents.

She loves all humans and wants all their attention! Drop often gets overly excited to meet people and will need reminders not to jump up or nip. Because of this, she would probably do the best living with older children who understand that she is trying to play when she does this. She has liked the children she has met on walks but has not had an opportunity to really play with a small human.

Drop is a medium energy dog who gets her energy out by going on walks, playing with her toys (her favorite are squeakers and treat dispensers), or wrestling with her foster brother. She gets random bursts of high energy that only last about 10 minutes a few times a day. She loves to nap and snuggle. Drop walks very well on a leash but is still a puppy, so she gets distracted easily. With treats and quick tugs, she is easily redirected to walk again. She is not fearful and walks around busy downtown Madison. She has only been outside on a leash but would probably love running around a yard.

This little lady is very interested in every dog she meets, which occasionally means barking at them. Like with humans, she may jump up or nip at dogs she wants to play with. Drop has been improving on this because she gets a treat every time, she has a positive interaction. She lives with a foster puppy whom she loves playing with. She eats next to him and shares her toys, but occasionally will try to steal a high value treat from him. She does get jealous when he gets attention. Drop would be content either with a dog sibling to play with or as any only dog. She is not the best at picking up on other dogs’ play cues (she doesn’t understand that they don’t always want to play), so she would do best with a younger dog who wants to play at least sometimes. She has not met any cats.

Drop is amazing when left alone in her crate. She knows the command “go to bed” and will happily go into her crate for a treat. She has no problem being crated for several hours during the day and is quiet when humans leave. She will only make noise if she needs to go potty. However, Drop should not be left free to roam unsupervised because she does find non-dog toys to play with, including digging in the garbage. She is very nosey and wants to be in everything, including roommates’ rooms.

Drop is a super entertaining puppy who will give you so much affection (sometimes more than you may want). She is flexible with her schedule and really wants to please her humans. She is super smart and treat-motivated, so she will be super easy to train! She is already crate-trained, almost potty-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, shake, lay down, and she is working on sitting at street intersections.

We joke that Drop Drop is a supermodel puppy because of her beautiful smokey eye and her love of cameras and having her picture taken- she poses all day long! We love her very much and know she will make a family super happy!
