Comet is a happy-go-lucky pup who loves to be part of anything her family is doing! She is the best of all worlds - playful with dogs and people, snuggly, active, and able to chill. Her foster family thinks that she could do well in a wide variety of home environments.

Comet loves chasing bunnies in the backyard, showing off her signature wrestling moves on other dogs like The Stalk, The Pounce, and The Boop. She loves eating treats, going for walks (she's learning leash manners and is showing great progress with a Gentle Leader), and chewing on toys. She's a loving companion and will stick by your side - literally and figuratively.

Here's what Comet's typical day in her foster home looks like:

Comet wakes up in her crate after sleeping quietly through the night, runs out back to go potty and zoom around the yard! She gets playtime with a foster dog sibling, snuggles with her foster mom, and then has breakfast. Usually, she devours her breakfast, but a slow feeder bowl works great for her, as does getting her kibble from treat-dispensing toys. One of Comet’s foster humans works from home, so Comet gets some variety in her days - chewing a nylabone and napping in her crate, lounging in the backyard on a sunny day, or being a cuddly coworker! On the occasional day when Comet has to be crated the whole workday, she does fine in her crate. As the day winds on, Comet supervises in the kitchen during human dinner, adorably chomping at the air to show that she would love to taste whatever you’re having! She gets more play time with a resident dog and then drifts off to sleep in her crate with a nylabone by her side!

Comet’s play style is a match for some dogs and a bit much for others. She would thrive in a household with another dog that is submissive but loves to play, or a dog that could teach her when to back down. Her tendency to be dominant and persistent with wanting to play does not match well with a dog who reads her body language as overpowering. She also would be happy in a home as the only dog as long as she gets lots of playtime with the humans. She’s visited (including a multi-day sleepover) a house with cats, and she showed that she’s respectfully curious around cats - playing with some and listening to assertive cats who ask her to back off. While Comet plays hard, she also naps hard, so a play session or walk before her adoptive family goes off to work for the day would help her to be more chill throughout the rest of the day.

Comet is excited to spend her years by your side as a loving and playful companion!
