Cash found his forever home September 24, 2021!
Cash sleeps in his kennel at night and does great through the night. He gets out of his kennel about 6:00 AM and we let him outside and then go on a 2-3 mile walk. When we get home he has breakfast and then has time to play and go outside again. He goes into his kennel when we go to work and settles in right away. We are working from home so we let him out at lunch time. He goes outside and sometimes gets a short walk in.
After work he is let out of his kennel and has dinner and more outside and play time. He loves to play with his rope toy and to wrestle with our resident dog. Some nights we go on another walk for about a mile.
He goes into his kennel for the night at about 9:30 PM and settles in right away for the night.
Cash has done well meeting people in our home. He has not had the chance to meet too many people. He will bark when the doorbell rings and we are working on him not jumping when greeting people.
When we are on walks, Cash does bark at people and dogs that he sees. We have been teaching him the “look at me” command and this has been helping a lot with him ignoring people and dogs.
Cash has not met children under the age of 11. He has done well with our two children ages 12 and 14 and has met several neighborhood children ages 11 and older and has done well with them.
Cash is a high energy puppy! We take him on at least one walk in the morning and sometimes get another walk in before bed. He loves to walk and seems to do better when we take him without our resident dog. He will pull sometimes but other times walks right next to us. He does bark at other dogs and at people on walks but has been doing well with the commands “look at me” and “let's go.”
Cash warmed up quickly to our 7-year-old yellow lab. He has also met several neighborhood dogs (pugs and golden retriever) in our backyard and has done well. There was barking initially and then he loved to run and chase with them. He also met my parents’ 14-year-old dog who does not love to play. He barked to see if she would want to play but did respect that she did not want to play.
Cash has been kenneled when he is left home alone. He has not been home for long periods of time since we are working from home. He does settle in to his kennel quickly though and does well. He has had some short periods of time out of his kennel while we are home as well and he has done well during these short times.
Cash is a big goofy puppy with lots of energy. He is very friendly and playful. He will do well with an active family who will take him on lots of walks and give him lots of play time.
He is a very smart boy and is treat motivated. He knows the commands: sit, lay down, kennel up, and look at me. He is working on: stay, shake and wait.
