Meet Cajun: Your Future Best Friend!

Are you looking for a loyal companion who loves to snuggle, play, and be active? Look no further! Cajun is a wonderful dog who is ready to find his forever home.

Cajun is a friendly and affectionate dog who just wants to be your best friend. He loves to cuddle and will happily rest his head on your shoulder. When he's not snuggling, he enjoys playing in the snow, hiking, and running. Cajun is very smart and would excel in various dog sports or training activities. With additional training, he likely could even become a therapy dog!

He has met 8- and 11-year-old boys and loved them but could overwhelm younger kids due to his size and energy. He has never lived with cats but shows interest in chasing them. He probably should not live with cats. Cajun currently lives with a 9-year-old Pit Bull and can live with other dogs, but he plays hard and loud, so a calm, non-reactive, probably female dog would be a good match.

Cajun was diagnosed with a low thyroid and takes his daily pill easily with a bit of peanut butter. His meds run about $6/month. He also was found to have food allergies, but he’s doing well with his limited ingredient kibble. It’s not prescription, so there’s no additional costs with this compared to any other dog. Finally, he has completed heartworm treatment while a foster dog and has remained on monthly preventatives since - treatment was successful and he lives a perfectly normal life! Finally, now that his thyroid condition is under medication control, his weight loss journey is back on track and Cajun is on his way back down to his ~60 lbs. ideal weight.

Overall, Cajun is a loving and loyal dog who will bring joy and companionship to your life. If you're looking for a dog who loves to cuddle, play, and be active, Cajun is the perfect match for you. Cajun would thrive in an active home with someone who can provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He needs an owner who can set boundaries and provide consistent training. While he currently lives in an apartment and does just fine with this, he would truly love a home and a yard of his own to romp in!
