Meet Buzz!

Buzz is an adorable, three month old hound mix who made the trip to Wisconsin from Alabama!

Buzz is a typical puppy! He loves to play and plays well with our resident dog and with his toys. He enjoys tug, fetch, and hard chews. He is good at self-entertaining and will take a toy or bone to his bed to keep himself occupied. Buzz has been good about sticking to toys for chewing and responds to “no” and re-direction if he happens to find a tasty shoe. Buzz enjoys treat puzzles and we have found they are great at keeping him occupied.

Buzz loves all people. He loves curling up next to a person to nap and get pets when he is sleepy. He is a top notch snuggler and loves to give kisses. Buzz has typical puppy excitement and will try to jump up when excited, but he takes redirection well and is mastering “sit." We are also working on "down." Buzz has been very gentle with children.

Buzz enjoys sniffing in the yard and exploring. He is working on his leash skills, but can get distracted with good smells, a tempting stick, or a tasty patch of grass. Buzz LOVES food and his hound instincts kick in when food is near. He has been respectful of our resident dog's food and has not shown any food aggression. He responds well to treats and takes treats very gently which will make for great training potential!

Buzz has come so far in regards to potty training! With supervision and regular potty breaks, Buzz is typically accident free. Buzz has been accident-free for the past several days in our home and he is getting more trustworthy with potty training every day.

We currently have Buzz sleeping in a crate at night in our bedroom. When he is tired and it’s time for bed, Buzz settles into his crate quickly and sleeps through the night most nights. Buzz prefers to be next to a human during the day instead of being in his crate; however, we are working on giving him dedicated crate time during the day. We have seen huge improvements in his crate training progress in just the past week. Buzz has progressed from crying almost non-stop to settling in much more quickly. While he can still be noisy, we anticipate that his crate training will only get better with time.

Buzz is a good boy with lots of potential! He can't wait to meet his forever family!

Buzz will be adopted out with an addendum to his contract to be neutered at an appropriate age.
