Updates
Bud starts his day with a romp around my apartment complex and gobbles up his food. He is crated during the work day with a 30-minute walk during lunch. After work, he gets a longer walk/exercise, dinner, and then is content to snuggle up until he heads to his crate to sleep overnight.
Bud LOVES people both inside and outside the home. He actively seeks out pets and attention. He does not bark at people and has no stranger danger. Bud has only spent time with children outdoors, but he does very well with them. He thinks they are super fun and will give them lots of kisses!
Bud is a high-energy guy who needs at least an hour of exercise throughout the day. He loves to run around and would be happiest with a yard (which is why I am not adopting him). On leash, he likes to walk ahead of me and stops often to sniff or mark. Bud would need training on a heel, but he is also hoping for an owner who believes walks are for the dogs' benefit and let him explore. Inside the home, he is pretty calm and adapts well to the home's energy level. He mostly just follows me around and watches everything I do.
Bud lives with a 2-year-old dog, and they do great together. He enjoys having a companion, especially outdoors to explore with, but he would be totally fine without a dog sibling. Bud is pretty submissive and only likes to rough-house/wrestle for a few minutes, so he would not want a sibling who is constantly trying to play with him inside. He can get nervous when there are several dogs playing/wrestling around him, so a dog daycare might not be a great fit for him. On walks, Bud politely greets other dogs and then continues on his way. He is comfortable with dogs of all sizes.
Bud spent time with cats while with a sitter, and his sitter reported that he was very indifferent towards them. He ignored the cats (who also ignored him) and co-existed nicely with them.
For training purposes, Bud is crated when he is left alone and overnight, but he does great free roaming and would love to sleep with his owner. He sometimes cries/whines (not bark) for 5-15 minutes when I leave but eventually settles in. Bud shows some mild separation anxiety, but with time, trust, and training, this could definitely improve. He would be a great work from home buddy because he is most comfortable when his people are around, but he does not need constant attention from them.
Bud is very treat and praise-motivated, and he already has great recall. He is the happiest guy who is always smiling. He is also a total sweetheart; he has no typical corgi sass or naughty behaviors. Bud can't wait to be included in his owner/family's lives and shower them with love!
