Looking for a snuggly, fully-grown, social doggo that is still adaptable and young enough to train? You're about to fall in love with this absolute sweetheart. Buck is smaller than he looks, standing only slightly taller than our beagle mix. He loves to chew on toys (and blankets sometimes!), hasn't met a dog he doesn't like to play with, is a doggy daycare staff favorite and often bounds around the house like a bunny! He might also be part cat as well -- he loves to fall asleep with you petting his chest and even purrs just like a cat.
Buck is an early riser (5- 6AM) because of our schedule but he's really adaptable and even though he looooooves food, he's happy to eat his meals whenever you pick. We take frequent potty breaks in between work and he enjoys looking out the window, playing with one of his chew toys and napping the day away in any sunny spot he can find. He doesn't seem to need a lot of walks, but is fast becoming a great walking partner. Buck is a complete gentleman in all social settings - he's been to Karben 4, Mallards Games and does well on the bike path behind our house.
He loves to chase his ball in our fenced-in backyard and because he is so treat-motivated, he makes fast work of learning, recall and redirection. He's still got some of his puppy tendencies and is working on his jumping manners with new people and other tricks like lay down, off, and come. Buck sleeps all night in his crate, though there's a treat tax required for entering the crate.
He would love a home with another dog, preferably a dog that's willing to show him the ropes (he mimics other dogs quite often) but he'd do great as a single dog too, as long as he gets pup play elsewhere. We currently send him to doggy daycare twice a week. He would benefit from someone who wants to continue his training so he can continue to be his best self!
Buck is well worth the wait-- you'll be jumping around for joy with this sweet little ham.
