Updates

Congrats on Boyd’s adoption October 24, 2020!

Boyd start the day with a morning potty around 6:30 am. Then he chills in his crate while his foster mom gets ready. Around 7:30 am, we eat breakfast and head out for our morning walk. He loves to be outside and explore. During the day, Boyd will spend time in his crate or in his dog bed, either napping or playing with some of his favorite toys. He's still young so he needs to go potty every 2-3 hours. Dinner is around 4:30 pm followed by our afternoon walk. Then Boyd turns in and sleeps in his crate through the entire night.

He can be a bit timid with people and noises at first but warms up with time. On walks, he welcomes the opportunity to say hello to other pups or humans. It makes him happy to get to meet new friends.

When we're hanging out inside the house, Boyd is more of a couch potato. Being outside excites him and makes him more energetic. He has little spurts of energy but spends most of his day napping or peacefully playing with his toys. Usually we go on two or three 20-minute walks in the day. He easily tires if he gets to play with some other pups. We're developing his leash manners. Boyd can get a little nervous of leaving or entering buildings, but with a little encouragement, he can overcome his fears. When we go on walks, he walks well on his leash.

Boyd loves to play with other dogs. On our walks, he's always on the lookout to say hi to new friends. His interaction with cats is unknown.

Boyd really likes to be around his foster mom. He prefers if she's close by where he can see her, but he can be distracted with a Kong treat toy. We have been practicing him spending time in his crate in another room. At first he would whine, but he has been becoming more comfortable being away from his foster mom. However, he does bark and whining more when his foster mom leaves the house to go grocery shopping. He has been good about sleeping in a crate in a separate room.

His confidence has already grown so much with patience and care. Boyd is a sweet puppy and he's looking forward to finding his forever home!
