PUPDATE 2

Benji has definitely warmed up to his foster home and family. He has been more comfortable doing typical puppy things such as chewing on items he shouldn't when his foster parents are silly and leave him alone for too long. He spent a few days finding his voice and barking often although has since toned down quite a bit and usually only barks if his foster sister gets him riled up, or if he's saying "hello" to people that pass by outside. Benji is quite the good listener for only being 7 months old. He knows his name and knows what "no" means. He's also improving on his leash skills and will continue to improve with consistent walks.

Benji had his first in-person meet and greet and was very nervous. This guy will need someone who can see through his nervousness and be patient because once he's comfortable, he's an amazing dog. However, this can be difficult to recognize during an initial meet and greet.

He continues to love his humans and furry siblings and loves to play and snuggle more than anything.

PUPDATE 1

We picked up Benji on a Saturday afternoon. He was very nervous but still accepting of pets from us humans. He was very nervous and would not walk on the leash. He had to be carried inside but did well once he was inside. He quickly became comfortable with the space and didn't even have any accidents inside.

Benji was eventually introduced to a cat and two other dogs. He was initially very nervous around the dogs but didn't care about the cat. After one day, he became comfortable around the medium sized dog and even started playing with her. He took a bit longer to warm up to the large dog. After a few days, the three of them were inseparable and play often!

Benji continues to be nervous on a leash and isn't a fan of walking, though he has made great progress in just a few walks. He used to lay down and not want to walk at all but now he will only occasionally get nervous and lay down if he becomes overwhelmed. He will do great with continued consistency on walks.

Benji has such a fun personality. He hasn't barked much but does use his voice to grumble when he can't get comfortable or to make noises while playing. He's very animated! (Just look at those ears). He's our first foster to never have an accident inside! AND he's crate trained!

Benji loves to snuggle and be with his humans or dog friends. He is still a puppy so he doesn't always understand personal space. For example, he needs to be reminded to give his dog friend space while she's chewing her bone or he will give you kisses right on your face first thing in the morning.

This guy will bring so much joy to someone!
