Pupdate 2

Beaux loves to spend time outside in the backyard exploring with the other dogs and going hiking. He does pretty well in the car and has learned to jump in and out himself. He’s really just up for anything and would be a dog that you can take anywhere. His behavior around the cat has settled a lot. He still will go to greet the cat when the cat enters a room but doesn’t pay as much attention to him. He has gotten more cuddly as he’s settled in more. He likes to be next to someone chewing on a toy or sleeping. Beaux and the other dogs in the home are still getting along famously. He loves attention and will push his way in if the other dogs are getting that but he’s not snippy about it. I’m working on having him sit and wait his turn for attention and treats. They can also share toys without any problems. Beaux is really a fantastic little dog and will be very missed when he finds his family!

Pupdate 1

Meet Beaux! He’s fun loving, affectionate and a complete social butterfly! Beaux loves everyone and is so excited about life and finding his forever home. He would be a perfect fit for an active individual or family that would like to include him in their adventures.

Beaux is very outgoing and loves attention from anyone that will give it. Beaux has never met a stranger and makes friends wherever he goes. He’s been friendly towards everyone he has met in foster care, including men, women and kids. He lives with a 9-year-old boy and is wonderful and loving towards him. He has met some younger kids and thinks they’re great too. However, Beaux is still working on manners and sometimes jumps up when greeting people which may be a consideration with small children.

Beaux ADORES other dogs! He lives with two dogs that are smaller than him and they’re getting along great. He plays and wrestles a lot with the one his age and half his size. He has also been attending doggy daycare where he acclimated quickly and has made many new friends there of all sizes.

Beaux could do well living with cats depending on their personality. Beaux is getting along well with the cat here in his foster home who is very used to dogs being around. He is not at all aggressive towards the cat, but is interested in him and tries to initiate play at times. He will chase cats that run.

Beaux sleeps in a crate next to my bed. He settles down quickly and is out for the night. He goes into the crate willingly with a treat. When left alone, he does do some barking and whining, although that is continuing to improve since he’s been here. He doesn’t do any chewing, scratching or otherwise trying to break out of the crate. He doesn’t seem to have received much prior training so will need help with learning house manners. However, he is very treat motivated and eager to please! Beaux is still jumping up when greeting people as stated before. He also tries to do a little counter surfing if food is left out. He has just learned “sit” and I am having him do that before being fed and let outside. He will need help with leash walking as well. On leash, he is pretty good in secluded areas. If he sees people and/or dogs around, he does pull to try to get to them. He is just so pumped about meeting new friends! He also will try to chase after any woodland creatures that cross his path. He’s been doing a fantastic job with potty training and has started going to the back door to be let out.

Beaux still has puppy energy and he’s very playful. He’d love to have opportunities in his new home to play with other dogs which he enjoys very much. He’ll also need some type of daily exercise like long walks, runs or doggy daycare. He also likes playing with toys and does spend time entertaining himself independently with them. He is really a gem of a dog and I have no doubt will become a beloved family member!

I am including a link to a video of him playing with his foster “siblings”. https://youtu.be/a6FxdudGxXU
