Updates
Beans is a lot like a toddler - he has a lot of energy, and loves to run around and play in the yard. He also loves to play with his humans and wants your undivided attention. He then tires himself out very quickly and takes a good long nap. He is FULL of love, and likes to snuggle and play. He is the friendliest dog, and wants nothing more than to be near his humans.
Beans loves kids (they're mini-humans after all!) and is curious about them, but I would not recommend a house with kids under age 10-ish. Beans likes to jump up and greet you, and due to his size, this can be scary for small kids.
Beans is medium energy, though because he's 60 pounds, it can seem high energy. He takes long naps and sleeps 12 hours at night, so he does love his beauty sleep too. He likes to have time to roam and explore in the yard, but doesn't need to go running or on long walks.
Beans loves other dogs and has never met a dog he hasn't liked. He loves to play. Small dogs may not get along with him due to his size. He also is very interested and curious about cats, but he will leave them alone if they're not interested in him.
Beans wants to be around humans. When he realizes his humans are gone, he barks for about 5 minutes - then he settles down and curls up for a nice long nap. If he wakes up and realizes his humans are gone still, he may bark again for a few minutes. We are working on crate training and he's definitely learning, especially for overnight sleep. He does fine if left out of the crate, just likes to explore the house, so put away anything that he shouldn't get into.
Beans is really motivated to follow his humans. If he sees you on the other side of the fence, he may try to jump the fence to follow you. If he is in his crate and you're upstairs/somewhere out of sight but he can still hear you, he is motivated to escape the crate to come find you. However, once you physically leave the house, he actually settles down for a nice long nap. Beans would do well with a human who can lavish attention on him while they're in the house with him, but are able to let him take long naps in peace when they leave.
