Bandit wakes up with the rest of the crew around 5am, goes out for potty and a stretch break, then has breakfast (including her antibiotic). We snuggle on the couch for 10-15 minutes before I go to work. She is crated in the home when unsupervised, approximately 7-8 hours per day. In the afternoon and evenings, she rotates with the resident dogs for yard, play, and snuggle time.
Bandit is very nervous of new people, and it took her 3-ish days to warm up to us, but now that she is more comfortable, we see more of her goofy and sweet personality every day. She prefers to not be touched by new people until she is comfortable but simply runs away and has not shown any reactivity. Bandit has not met any children.
We are re-introducing activity to Bandit after she was on heartworm treatment-related activity restrictions. She is low energy and does well on a leash.
Bandit appears to be scared of our (large, 55 and 65 lbs) resident dogs so we have not let them interact. She does growl if they get too close to her crate. Bandit ignores our cat.
Bandit is very quiet! She sits patiently in her crate until she joyfully prances out into the arms of her foster mom and/or outside for a few zoomies.
She was treated with a round of antibiotics for Anaplasma but does not show any active signs of infection. Bandit would benefit from a dental in the next 1-2 years due to tartar accumulation. In the meantime she can eat dental chews to prevent new tartar build up.
Bandit would thrive in an environment where she gets attention, snuggles, and a yard in which to zoom. She will need a patient and kind owner to show her grace and give her time to warm up through the transition from the foster to permanent home. Bandit loves to be brushed and needs brushing every other day at least. She is truly a gem of a dog!
