PUPDATE #2

Bambi’s been getting better with her socialization skills lately. She’s been getting a ton of interactions with dogs. On walks, we can usually walk by other dogs and it’s okay, she just likes to look. She loves to play with other pups and does really well! Sometimes her energy can be a bit much for our older dogs but she gets the hint that they don’t want to play quickly.

Bambi has been doing really well with anyone she meets. Once and awhile she will bark at someone (male) but if they get down on her level she’ll run up to sniff and lick their hand.

Bambi is so good at keeping herself occupied. Often she will be found chewing on a bone laying around or playing with one of her toys. Though she isn’t much of a “fetch” dog, outside the home her favorite activity is laying around and chewing on a toy.

PUPDATE #1

Bambi’s schedule is pretty routine. She wakes up at 8 ish, goes potty and eats breakfast. She plays with toys until around 9am when she gets crated until 2pm. The rest of the day is spent sleeping in the sun, playing with toys, and squeezing two walks in there. Bambi gets crated for bed around 10:30pm and she settles right in.

Bambi is a little timid with people, but warms up quickly and is a sweetheart. She’s been living downtown Madison, and the exposure to lots of people and loud noises has been helpful. Often, Bambi will try and go up to mainly females to greet them as they walk by and if they pet her she gives all the licks and kisses. She seems a little more timid around males, but has done well with male interactions when we go slow.

Bambi has had no exposure to children or cats.

Bambi has a medium level of energy. She needs about 2 long walks or 3 shorter walks and will nap/ lay around with you the rest of the time. If she isn’t exercised or stimulated properly she will try and find something to chew on (socks and shoes are her favorite) but hasn’t wrecked anything. On the leash Bambi does good, she does love to sniff anything and everything so sometimes she needs to be redirected or she will explore forever it seems like. She absolutely loves running around in a backyard when she gets the chance.

Bambi has done well with our two resident pups. They don't always want to play and she seems to get the hint from them. Bambi likes to bark at other dogs walking by, so we're working on redirecting her, continuing this training would be good for her. She also absolutely loves food and will try and sneak anything off the counter in her reach.

Bambi gets crated every time we leave her alone, she settles right in. We typically don't leave her all alone too often, but if left out she's a typical puppy and would chew on something.

Bambi is such a good dog. She is a puppy so classic puppy behavior (chewing on things, accidents if not taken out on a regular schedule, etc) someone who is willing to work with her and keep her stimulated. She is a little timid at times and will need someone to work with her on building confidence. She is very food & treat motivated and learns quickly! She will make a great addition to a family!
