Updates

Baby Doll is a very sweet, laidback low energy dog that is looking for someone to love and cuddle with her whole heart! She loves being a couch potato next to her human as much as she loves sitting outside on the back patio for some fresh breeze. She’s also a bit of a goofball. She gets very short bursts of the zoomies (less than 5 seconds) where she speeds up to say hi to her human when they come back inside or from being at work. Baby Doll also will gently put her paw on you when she wants pets, and just stare at you if you say no. About half of the time we give in :)

Baby Doll is good with people both inside and outside of the house. Inside the house, she’ll go to the door to see what’s going and waits for pets from the incoming person. She will bark if something makes her nervous or if she sees a dog outside of the window. Outside, she’s very polite with new people and waits for pets. We took her to an event at World of Beer and she was very well-behaved with all of the strangers and dogs that came up to her. She also was very well-behaved at a softball game we took her to. She will look for reassurance to make sure that person is ok to go to pets for. If she does feel uncomfortable while on a walk outside (which is rare but can happen during peak time after work), she will whine and hide behind my legs. It does look like men in baseball caps moving towards her quickly makes her nervous but she does not get aggressive – she looks for you to comfort her and hides until you say it’s ok and pet her head.

Baby Doll is great with cats and enjoys snoozing next to them. There have been times where my cats laid on top of her for a quick snuggle and Baby Doll just kept sleeping. Baby Doll hasn’t had exposure to children.

Baby Doll is an extremely low energy dog. If there are other dogs around, she will play with them for a little bit and then either put herself in her kennel or on the couch to sleep. She currently lives with two dogs under 2 years right now and does very well with them as the lady of the house. Baby Doll loves going for a .5-2.5 mile walk, depending on how far you want to take her. After 2.5 miles she’ll start slowing down a bit but will finish the walk – you’ll just need to bring water for her and give her a few minutes of break time. She doesn’t play with toys or chew on anything outside of Greenies, so really the only activity outside of cuddling Baby Doll gets excited for is going for that walk. We prioritize it every day for her given how much her butt wiggles in happiness when she sees the leash.

Baby Doll is great with dogs and reads their energy level. If a dog is bothering her she will let out a little warning growl but will move herself to be in her kennel or closer to humans. Outside of the house, she tends to avoid meeting new dogs unless we tell her it’s ok – similar to humans, if she’s uncomfortable she’ll whine a little and hide behind our legs.

When you leave the house, Baby Doll is good and sleeps. We put her in the kennel most times but she would be fine free roaming (as long as tasty treats are put away!). If you put her in the kennel for alone time but you are still in the house she will whine at a low volume, definitely meant to pull at your heartstrings until you let her out. Sometimes she will do this at night until you let her jump in the bed (it seems she’s used to sleeping next to humans) so we’ve been working with her on sleeping in the kennel more consistently.

If you are looking for a low energy companion who will hang out with you outside or inside and warm your heart because of how loving she is, then this gal is the perfect fit!
