Are you looking for a little snuggle buddy to keep you warm over the coming winter and someone to idolize you and follow you wherever you go in the house? Wendy could be just the dog you are looking for!

Wendy is a calm, gentle, affectionate little soul. She weighed in at 14.6 pounds last week. She’s not so small that she can’t easily go up and down the stairs, jump onto the couch, jump onto the bed, and climb out of a dog playpen. But she is small enough to fit nicely on your lap or cuddle next to you whenever you sit down. Because of her size and gentle manner, she would probably do best in a family with adults or older children.

Wendy’s exercise routine consists of 3 to 4 walks around our neighborhood each day. That’s all she needs and she’s happy to go back to cuddling on your lap. She doesn’t have a strong desire to play with toys, but has shown interest in toys that squeak. She chased a toy but did not bring it back. She initiated play with our large resident dog and then decided that he was too intimidating. But she’s not at all afraid of him and they get along well.

Wendy knows her name, the command sit, walks well on a leash, and is house trained. She’s learning come and wait at the door. She’s not highly treat motivated but responds well to praise. Wendy sleeps quietly all night in a kennel in our bedroom. She stays in a kennel when we leave her home alone.

Wendy is a bit timid and trembles when she’s afraid. She bonded quickly with me and is now my shadow. After bonding with me she decided she wanted nothing to do with my husband, unless I was nearby. My husband did all of her cares over a weekend, including feeding her, taking her on all her walks, and lots of lap and cuddle time. It worked and she likes him now. If you adopt Wendy, you’ll need to make sure everyone in your family shares in her cares and snuggles so she doesn’t attach to just one person.

I think Wendy will be a wonderful addition to someone’s life-she is a gem!
