Hi! I’m Walter! I was given a second chance at life when my foster dad saw my photo as the LA wildfires were raging around my original shelter. I was at high risk of euthanasia as the shelters had to evacuate. Thankfully Fetch was able to bring me to Madison because I am having the best time here (and everywhere I go).
My foster dad is a busy guy and I get to go to all kinds of new places with him! I am great at riding in the car, I go to his softball games and cheer on the sidelines with all kinds of different people, including little kids. I love them and I try to be extra gentle with them, but as a puppy, I’m still learning all my manners! I have a lot of fun in new environments and around new people and I LOOoOoOOove dogs. I am great at playing with them and know when to be submissive. Everyone says what a sweet boy I am when they meet me.
At home, I love my walks, my chew toys (and sometimes other non-chew toys, but I am easily redirectable when given my own toys), and one of my all-time favorite things to do is snuggle with a human after a fun play session or walk.
When I am not running around with my foster dad, I am crate trained and do really well. My foster dad says he’s only heard me bark once so far! My crate feels like my little safe space and I stay in there when my foster dad goes out, as well as at night. My foster dad has been working on basic commands with me, and says I’m a very fast learner! I am still young and have a lot to learn but I am very responsive to training!
While I am so thankful to have been rescued and made it this far, I would love to have a family of my own someday. I would be happy as a single sidekick, or I’d be super pumped to have a human or doggie sibling around! I’m pretty happy, no matter what.
