Meet Tayla! She recently came up from Louisiana to escape the wildfires and start fresh here in Wisconsin. Tayla is a beautiful brindle-colored pup who is fun, loving, smart and full of life.

A typical weekday for Tayla begins by getting up around 6/6:30am and going right out to potty. Then back into her crate while I get ready. Next is breakfast followed by another potty break and running around the yard. Then she settles into the day playing with toys, chewing on hard chews and naps. She gets potty breaks on and off. She will also get crated on and off when needed and does well with that, but may bark for just a couple of minutes and then will settle. After work, she gets dinner and a long walk. The rest of the evening is spent playing until she is ready to snuggle with you on the couch. Bedtime is anywhere from 9:30pm-10:30pm. She sleeps in her crate all night without a peep.

Tayla has had just a few pee accidents, but I believe that is due to adjusting and getting into a routine. She seems to fully understand that she is supposed to potty outside. She does go to the backdoor when she wants to go outside so paying attention to her cues will continue her success with potty training.

Tayla loves other dogs and has done great with my three resident dogs. I have two grumpy older dogs and while she has unsuccessfully tried to engage in play, she is learning their cues and is being respectful. I have one resident dog who will play (not as often as Tayla would like!) and they have had a great time together. Tayla would love a dog sibling with a similar energy level but would be fine as an only dog so long as she gets opportunities to be social with other dogs through doggy daycare, playdates, etc.

Tayla has not met a cat in our care. She let the neighbor kids pet her through the fence and she did great with them but has otherwise not been around kids in our care. She is super friendly and seems to love everyone so I think she would do well with them. She loves to get dog snuggles and give dogs kisses. She may give a little puppy nibble too so something to be aware of.

Tayla is a young pup who will need training and a good amount of activity and exercise – she has a lot of puppy energy! She will get into things she isn’t supposed to so does need to be watched and redirected. She is very smart so should do great with training. She already knows sit and laydown and is picking up on other commands quickly. She is even learning to play fetch! Tayla is a curious pup who loves to be with her people and see what’s going on. She would be great in an active home. This sweet girl is going to make an awesome addition to her forever home.
