Need a little sunshine in your life? Meet Sunny!
This beautiful 11-month-old, black and white, 45-pound pup is looking for her forever home, and she's got so much to offer the right family. Fair warning: you might become obsessed with her ridiculously soft coat—we sure have!
She's a smart, curious girl who's still figuring out that the world isn't as scary as she initially thought. When we first got her, she was pretty easily spooked, but she's been steadily building her confidence and has come a long way. She still needs a little patience with new situations, but once she trusts you, she transforms into the cuddliest companion who'll happily sleep pressed right up against you all night.
She's generally quiet and chill around the house—you'll barely hear a peep from her unless someone's at the door. That said, she does have a mischievous streak when she's left alone for too long, so she'd do best with someone who's home fairly often or can bring her along on adventures - at least to start. She's very smart, which means she learns quickly but also needs mental stimulation to stay out of trouble! The good news? She responds really well to a firm "no" and redirection—she catches on fast.
She gets along great with our 4-year-old pit mix and loves having a playmate. She and our 11-year-old beagle mix cuddle up on the couch. She's also good with kids! While she hasn't lived with cats, she's encountered them at the vet (in carriers) and stayed calm, cool, and collected—a good sign! She's not one of those food-obsessed dogs, so training will take a little creativity since treats aren't her main motivator—but her intelligence makes up for it.
We think she'd thrive in an active family that can give her the companionship she craves. She's great with older kids and warms up quickly when given a little support and consistency. A home with another friendly dog would be a bonus, and someone who's around frequently would help her continue building confidence and good habits. In return, you'll get a loyal, snuggly, smart companion with the softest fur you've ever touched.
