Squidward is a super sweet, loving dog, looking for a patient and caring family to help him build confidence in daily doggy life. He LOVES walks, chasing rabbits and exploring outside (though new noises can throw him off), and has loved playing with other dogs when he gets the chance! That said, he spends most of his day lazing on the couch, and is content to chill while you go about your routine. He has done well with kids aged 3 to 13, as well as adults (he hasn't met anyone under 3 years old). He likes to lay near his person on the couch and be touching your legs if he is allowed in bed.
He is still fairly timid and uncertain about indoor life and where he is and is not allowed to be. He needs encouragement to go from room to room (we think it's the pattern on our floor and possibly narrow spaces), but is opening up nicely as he gets more confident in our home. He will blossom with a family who is willing to help him build confidence with these "scary" places, and/or a resident dog who can show him the ropes.
He is well-behaved and has done great when left to free roam, but also done well when in a crate with a kong or treat. He is fully potty trained and can go 9 hours overnight or during the day without showing signs of stress. He has been good with our cat (submissive).
