Shoby is my name, squeaky toys are my game.

I hitched a freedom ride here, to the land of cheese and beer.

I’m still learning the ropes, but I am no dope.

If you need a hug, I will be your snuggle bug!

Looking for a small fry, I’m probably not your guy.

If you adopt me, happy we will be!

Shoby has only been with us a short time, but is proving to be a wonderful puppy. He is young so all manners should be considered a work in progress. He does the cutest sit and stares at me for praise when he stops moving. We are practicing going for walks, potty training and crate training as priority right now. He is responsive to the cues he gets from my resident dog and will sometimes entertain himself by bouncing around the room playing with toys. He does like to chew, but re-directs well when caught chewing on something he shouldn’t. He currently doesn’t love to be alone so we are working on this. An adopter should plan to continue exploring options here. Once he is tired he loves a good snuggle session!

We are diligent about Shoby’s routine and it is helping him adjust to his new surroundings. He’s a voracious eater so he eats 3x a day from a slow feeder. We do bedtime potty at around 10pm. He sleeps crated next to my bed. Sometimes he needs to be reminded he is not alone before he settles, but a quick pat on the head takes care of this. Most of the time he sleeps through the night, but he is young so sometimes we still don’t get that right. He typically wakes up around 6-7am with a zest for taking on a new day! I let him play for a bit in the morning and then tether him to my desk during the work day and he does well.

Shoby has not had time to meet cats or kids yet. His previous sitter had a cat and indicated that he paid the cat no attention. I suspect he would appreciate a kid to play with, however, based on his manners being a work in progress supervision is always recommended.

We love Shoby. We are confident that with love, training and consistency he will grow into a wonderful addition to any family.
