PUDPATE 2
Schatzi has opened up a lot over the past few weeks. She LOVES playing with her foster brother who is just her size and has been doing much better with going outside to potty. She is not a fan of larger dogs, but will tolerate them eventually with slow introductions. Her favorite thing to do is bury herself under blankets right next to her human. This little gal has a big personality and makes us laugh every day!
PUPDATE 1
Schatzi is laid back, sweet, and very loyal to her human. If a stranger comes to the house, she will bark but is not at all aggressive. She will make a wonderful companion for someone who is home most of the time and would like an adorable sidekick to spend their days with!
She goes out and wonders around our yard in the morning and then back out after breakfast to ensure she has plenty of opportunities to relieve herself out there. She is making significant progress towards our house-training goals but will need continued work with this. Throughout the day, she wants to be near her human and will cuddle up anywhere that person is.
Schatzi has not been around children, but is easily frightened so would likely do best with older children. She has not met a cat.
She is a senior lady but has lots of spunk! She loves to follow her person around out in the yard when the weather is nice and uses a step to get up on to the couch. She has low exercise requirements but walks just fine on a leash and should go for a couple of short walks per day.
Schatzi currently has three foster siblings and is wonderful with all of them. She doesn't want to play but would be fine with other dogs that are respectful of her space. She does not guard her food or treats.
She has separation anxiety and will usually have an accident if left loose in the house, although she is getting better with this. She has been crated when we leave and does fine in the kennel, although is sometimes vocal. She does not chew or destroy anything when left loose and unattended.
Schatzi is a really good girl who makes us laugh every day. She is smart and learns very quickly, we are so proud of how far she has come in the short time she has been with us. She is a little love bug and will make a wonderful companion for someone who has the time to spend taking strolls and snuggling with her!
